How long does a roof replacement take?
Most single-family homes in the Vancouver area are torn off and re-covered in one to two working days. Steeper pitches, multiple layers, or discovered decking rot can add a day.
Do I need a permit to replace my roof?
Re-roofing in unincorporated Clark County and within Vancouver city limits generally requires a permit. We pull it as part of the job and schedule any required inspection.
Should I repair or replace?
If the damage is localized and the surrounding shingles still hold granules and lie flat, repair is usually the better value. Widespread granule loss, curling edges, or a second leak within a year of the first generally point to replacement.
What should I do about moss?
Moss holds moisture against the shingle and lifts edges as it thickens, which is how a slow problem becomes a leak. It should be treated and allowed to die back, never pressure-washed — pressure strips the granules that protect the shingle.
